ADVANTAGES OF UV CURING

The polymerisation and crosslinking of reactive substrates by UV curing was introduced in the 1960s in the wood and furniture industries. Today, after thirty years of continuous growth both in the market and in R&D, this technology can offer a broad range of products suitable for a wide range of applications.

The main advantages of the radiation curing process are:

  • very low evolution of volatile organic compounds (VOC)
  • unique characteristics of the finished products
  • high speed of curing with substantial improvement of production efficiency

The UV curable systems offer to the manufacturers the possibility to meet environmental regulations for limitation of emissions and air quality, using solvent free formulations.
The finished products have unique surface characteristics such as abrasion and solvent resistance and high gloss. The high speed cure allows a drastic reduction of polymerisation
time and of energy costs improving the production efficiency.
